The New Orleans Pelicans hosted the San Antonio Spurs, as Zion Williamson made his NBA debut. Zion impressed the crowd, as he scored 22 points, on 8-11 shooting, 4-4 from three, in just 18 minutes. Brandon Ingram also had 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to get a win, as the Spurs were led by Aldridge who had 32 points and 14 boards, DeRozan had 20 points in their win (121-117).
The Pistons blew out the Sacramento Kings in Detroit 127-106. This was a very strange result, considering that the Pistons were missing Brown, Kennard, Griffin and Drummond, while the Kings played without Bagley and Holmes. Christian Wood was perfect from the field, and he scored 23 points, Derrick Rose was also great with 22 points and 11 assists. Jackson also had 22 points. Fox had 22 points for the Kings, he was followed by Bogdanović who had 19.
In a battle between two playoff hopeful teams, the Thunder took a win in Orlando 120-114. This was also great duel between two great 6th mans, as Schroder scored 31 points and dished out 9 assists, while Terrance Ross had 26 points for the Magic. Vučević was also good with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rapotrs had no problems versus the 76ers, and they won 107-95. Fred VanVleet was great again with 22 points and 8 assists, Powell had 18, Siakam had a same amount of points but also 15 rebounds. At the Sixers, Harris dropped 22 points, Simmons and Korkmaz both had 17.
The Hawks surprised the Los Angeles Clippers and won at home 102-95. They sere playing without Trae Young, but the Clippers were also without PG, Beverley and Kawhi. John Collins scored 33 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, Goodwin had 19 points. At the Clippers, Harrell was great with 30 points, Williams finished with 18.
The Celtics destroyed the Grizzlies 119-95 in TD Garden. They were just unstoppable, and Tatum led them with 23 points, Theis had 14. At the Grizzlies, Valančiunas had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Miami Heat just can’t seem to lose when the game goes to overtime, as they won once again after additional 5 minutes, this time against the Washington Wizards 134-129. Tyler Herro dropped 25 points, Butler had 24 points and 10 assists, Dragić had 22 points and same number of assists. At the Wizards, Beal had some magic spells with 38 points, Bertans followed with 24.
The Los Angeles Lakers won against the New York Knicks 100-92. Anthony Davis really had no problems with Knicks’ frontcourt, as he scored 28 points, and LeBron was also solid with 21 points. At the Knicks, Morris had 20 points.
The Bulls managed to win against out of rhythm Timberwolves 117-110. Zach Lavine had 25 points versus his former team, Markannen had 21 points. At the Wolves, Towns had 40 points, Wiggins followed with 25.
The Rockets easily coasted by the Nuggets in Toyota Center, as they won 121-105. The Nuggets were playing without Millsap, Harris, Porter Jr., Plumlee and Murray, so Jokić couldn’t bring the victory alone. He had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, Grant followed with 17. At the Rockets, Westbrook had 28 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists, Harden had 27, Gordon finished with 25 points.
The Indiana Pacers destroyed the Suns in Arizona with a blowout victory 112-87. TH Warren had no mercy versus his former team, as he scored 25 points, Sabonis had 24 points and 13 boards. The Suns were led by Oubre who had 17 points, Booker had one less.
The Jazz easily handled the Warriors, and won 129-96. Mitchell (23 pts) and Rudy Gobert (22pts, 15 rbs, 3blk) led the Jazz, and D’Angelo tried responding on the other side, but with hos 26 points that was not enough for this game to be within reach.
