The Klaw takes down the Lakers, Raptors start off strong

New season started last night with city rivals, game between LAC and LAL and game between last year’s champion Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans.

Clash of the favourites on the west for this season, Los Angeles Clippers won against Los Angeles Lakers. LAC won by 10 points (112-102). First debut of new stars was great. Anthony Davis finished with 25 points, 10 boards and Kawhi Leonard with 30 points. Great start of the season but surprise was Danny Green with 28 points ( 10/14 from the field). Paul George didn’t play because of the surgery. Both teams have potential for great things, but its gonna be question who will be healthier at the time.

The running champions Toronto Raptors have hosted a NBA season opener versus the new look New Orleans Pelicans. Before the game started, Raptors staff and players received rings for their amazing accomplishment last season, and first NBA title banner was raises in Scotiabank Arena.

In front of their amazing fans, Raptors managed to win in tough matchup vs the Pelicans. After overtime Raptors won by 8, led by their new franchise player Pascal Siakam (34 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists) and last NBA finals hero Fred Van Vleet (34 points, 7 assists). Kyle Lowry added 22 points and 6 assists. It is also worth mentioning that Raptors played with rotation of only 8 players, due to some injury problems.

New look Pelicans, that played without their Star rookie Zion Williamson, who tore his meniscus, have looked really well during the game. It was very balanced effort from several Pelicans, but one that stood out the most was Brandon Ingram (22 points). JJ Reddick, Josh Hart, Nicolo Melli and Jrue Holiday, have dropped 16, 15, 14, 13 points respectively. Lonzo Ball didn’t play very well, as he only scored 8 points on horrible efficiency (29% FG). He was also benched for the most part of the second half.
