Jacare moves up, faces Blachowicz at UFC Sao Paulo

Long-time top 5 UFC middleweight ‘Jacare’ Souza has announced he will move up in weight and fight at light heavyweight.

UFC has confirmed Souza will face Jan Blachowicz, 5th ranked light heavyweight in the organization, in the main event of November’s UFC Fight Night: Sao Paulo!

Jacare is currently 26-6 in his career and 9-4 in the UFC, is looking for a bounce back fight after his most recent loss against Jack Hermansson in April. In his storied career, Souza has defeated the likes of Gegard Moussasi, Robbie Lawler, Chris Weidman, Vitor Belfort and Derek Brunson, and has finished 22 fights where he was victorious.

Meanwhile, after his TKO win against former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, Jan Blachowicz was deemed to be the next in line for Jon Jones, especially considering his only loss in the last 6 fights was against Thiago Santos, who gave Jones a run for his money at UFC 239.
